What hours are you available?
We are available during normal business hours, which are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (from January through April we have extended hours, including some Saturdays). We would be happy to make special arrangements for evening or weekend consultations, as needed.

How long have you been in business?
KWLLC and its predecessors have been in business since 1970. We have served several generations in the same families and the same businesses. Most of our prospective clients come to us through the recommendations of existing clients.

How do you bill for your services?
To a large degree, you control what you are billed. Since we bill by the hour, the quality of your records or the difficulty level of your engagement will dictate the total fee. We move work up to the level necessary to properly complete it. All work is reviewed by a partner before completion.

Our standard rates are:

  • $350 per hour – Partner
  • $250 per hour – Senior Staff
  • $100 per hour – Junior Staff
  • Some clients retain us on a monthly or quarterly billing cycle for ongoing engagements. Please discuss with us your specific requirements and wishes so we can recommend an appropriate billing arrangement.

Fees for individual tax preparation are due at the time of the appointment. (note- at this time, we do not accept credit cards) Fees for business and nonprofit accounting and tax services are billed on a time and progress billing basis as the work is performed.

What role do you play if the IRS audits me?
KWLLC has significant experience representing taxpayers successfully before the IRS and other taxing authorities. As advocate for our clients, we are prepared to defend anything we put on a return. We will spend up to one full hour with you at no charge, going over the return in question with you. After that, our regular fees apply. Also, we now offer audit insurance*, which guarantees that should you be audited by the IRS or the state, you will not incur any additional expense for our representation at the audit if you used this firm to prepare your tax return for the year selected.
*Cost of insurance is $200 per year for individual tax returns only.  Contact us for details.

How much and what kind of preparation do you need for my return?
We consider all data left with us as original copies and return the same after we have copied and/or processed it. Rather tha receiving information on a "piecemeal basis", we appreciate receiving a complete package of tax information in order to prepare your tax returns. This helps to prevent errors of duplication or omission and saves us time and you money. If we have prepared your individual tax returns before, we will mail you a "pro-forma organizer" to use in gathering your current data with reminders of categories and amounts you had in the prior year. Blank organizers are provided to new clients to be used as a "checklist" to be sure you have covered everything.

    Do you accept credit cards?
At this time, we do not accept credit cards.

Do you offer e-filing of tax returns?
Yes, e-filing is available. Contact us for details.
